Description

TDX200M277/480TT

Modular TDX Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors  – 200kA – 277/480 V Un – 3Ph 4W G

The TDX200 series of Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors is designed for critical protection applications. The 200 kA 8/20 μs of surge protection exceeds the IEEE C62.41.2 Scenario II single shot surge rating requirements for exposed service entrance locations- Exposure 3.

The NEMA-4 weather tight housing allows the TDX to be installed on indoor or outdoor service panels. The preconfigured connecting leads simplify installation. The unique narrow construction allows the SPD ti fit between adjacent panel boards and connect via a 90 degree elbow. A flush mounting kit is also available for installing the SPD in drywall applications. Listed as a Type 1 SPD to UL 1449 Edition 3, The TDX Series can be installed within a Type 1 or 2 location in accordance with NEC 2008.

200kA 8/20μs maximum surge rating provides protection suitable for service entrance, main-distribution panels and highly exposed applications.

Frequently Asked Question

Q: What is the recommended protection size (fuse) for the TDX200M277480TT?

A: Circuit breakers or HRC fuses are to be used as external protection, and existing protection may be used if it meets the following requirements. HRC fusing or D-curve breakers are less likely than C-curve breakers to suffer from nuisance tripping. This external fusing is primarily for protection against fault of the surge protection circuit wiring rather than failure of the surge diverter, so it is important to remember that the fuses/circuit breakers rating are limited by the connection wiring size as per standard wiring regulations. As TDX models are supplied with 5.26mm2 leads pre-fitted then 32A fusing would be typical.
